Heritage
Our Heritage activities situates Sterts within the landscape, working histories and folklore of SE Cornwall. We strive to be a hub for research, inquisitive tourism and local communities alike, to dive deeper into the rich history of the area.
We are excited to be developing a collaboration with Bodmin Moor Dark Sky Landscape – the World's First International Dark Skies Landscape, delivered by Caradon Observatory and Cornwall Council. Find out more about the work being undertaken here.
We have more exciting plans coming in 2025. For more information about our heritage work please email hello@stertsarts.org.
Environmental
Sterts is proud to be an Environmental Centre. We are ambitious about being a catalyst for conversation and action around environmental and creative practice.
Our 4 acre site offers many creative ways to engage with and be inspired by nature and the environment and we are committed to expanding our work to embrace our surroundings and celebrate our unique location.
Our new 500 seat Barn Theatre, designed by local architect Gregory Kewish is fitted with solar PV and batteries, enabling us to run full scale events and productions off-grid.
Sterts has embraced repurposing, reusing and upcycling for many years and we are committed to building on this practice, ensuring all future in-house productions follow the Theatre Green Book.
We are keen to collaborate with like-minded artists, companies and businesses who share our ethos. Interested? Get in touch by emailing hello@stertsarts.org.
