New Year, New Opportunities at Sterts!

As we look ahead to 2026, we’re excited to be entering a very special year at Sterts Arts and Environmental Centre: 40 years as a charity. For four decades, Sterts has been a place of community, resilience and creativity, shaped by the people who volunteer, participate, work and lead with us.

As we celebrate this milestone year, we’re inviting new people to get involved and help shape the next chapter of Sterts. Whether you’re looking for a role within our small staff team, want to support the organisation at board level, or have time and skills to share as a volunteer or freelancer, there are lots of ways to be part of life at Sterts in 2026.

Administrator (Part-Time)

We are looking for a friendly, organised and proactive Administrator to join our small team. This is a part-time position and an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the day-to-day running of Sterts, supporting our artistic and community programme, events, and wider organisational work.

Working closely with the General Manager and CEO, the Administrator plays a vital role in the day-to-day operations of Sterts. The role provides administrative, logistical and front-of-house support across the organisation, assisting with volunteer coordination, premises management, financial processing, data collection, and communications. This post is ideal for someone with strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and an enthusiasm for supporting a creative, community-focused and sustainable environment.

Trustees and Directors – Help Shape the Future of Sterts

We are also recruiting new Trustees and Directors to join Sterts at this important moment in our history.

In particular, we are seeking a Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees for the CIO, and we would welcome expressions of interest from people with experience in finance, HR or hospitality, as well as those with senior-level experience in the arts and culture sector, to join the Board of Directors for Sterts Theatre CIC.

Our Trustees and Directors play a vital role in guiding Sterts’ strategic direction, ensuring strong governance, and supporting the long-term sustainability of the organisation. You don’t need prior governance experience, just a commitment to our values and a desire to help Sterts thrive.

Whether you can give a little time occasionally or want to be more regularly involved, we’d love to hear from you. To express your interest or to ask any questions, please email volunteers@stertsarts.org
